WHAT ARE OUR IDEOLOGICAL
PRINCIPLES?
As in the well-known Portuguese poem and song “The
Philosopher’s Stone”, we also believe that “Dreaming rules life”. It is,
indeed, the reason why we live, and die if necessary; but not for fanatical
reasons and much less for love of a futile cause. It is only in Love that dreams
are built and their roots created. And Love never leads to false or lost
causes, even if it sometimes seems to be so. We believe our dream is not an
empty one because, deep down, it is the dream of Humankind itself; that is, the
dream of all of us. Unfortunately, it is so often forgotten, distorted and
misrepresented by men, for circumstantial reasons or by forces that surpass our
understanding!
It is, therefore, in terms of Love and Humanity
that our dream is built, a dream that we would like not only to be ours, or
only shared by the many who think and feel the same way we do, but by everyone.
After all, it was thinking in all human beings that we decided to
create our Association.
It is not by chance that one of our rules establishes
that all members must address one another by their Christian name. This way,
every time we come close to someone, it is not the external person we see but
rather his or her inner self, which is the most precious and true treasure
(s)he has.
The history of Humankind is in progress and, if we
believe that one day it had a beginning, logically we have to believe that one
day it will have an end that could be tragic or glorious. So, as we say, “we
are all in the same boat”; or, paraphrasing Carl Sagan, we are all of us
travellers on the same spaceship - our planet Earth.
Being aware of that, would it be possible for us to
have any other ideal than the one which has been nursed by Humanity itself over
the years? - the very Ideal for which Humankind has been fighting for so long,
and which has kept us in permanent tension in pursuit of the Truth? Therefore,
knowing that a diversity of paths exist, and believing that they will lead us
to the UltimateTruth, we hope to be able to contribute, together with all those
who think like us, to bringing knowledge and diverse wisdom together, since
this can be Ariadne’s thread that will take Humanity to its final
destiny, which we hope will be glorious.
